Corporate Ethical Conduct Provisions
SMART MARINE & LOGISTICS CORPORATION’S policy for ethical conduct is a commitment to comply with all applicable legal requirements and high ethical standards wherever we operate. The policy defines what we expect of our businesses and people regardless of location or background.
All employees must adhere to the principles and requirements of this policy.
We wish to make it clear that we intend our business dealings to be characterized by honesty and absence of deceit and fraud and that we find unethical behaviour unacceptable.
Practices that we consider dishonest, unethical or unacceptable include the following:
- Fraud, bribery or corruption
- Deception
- Clandestine brokering or sharing of tender information
- Collusion for the purpose of corrupting a competitive tender, and
- Payments, gifts or entertainment from suppliers, agents or representatives to influence decision making
- Harassment in the workplace
Employees must not use a contractor, agent, consultant or other third party to perform any act which conflicts with this policy. Employees who engage third parties such as contractors, agents or consultants to work on behalf of Safe Marine Assurance must include a contractual requirement for them to act consistently with this policy when working on our behalf.


HSE Policy Statement
SMART MARINE & LOGISTICS CORPORATION recognises that Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) matters are an integral part of its business performance and exemplary performance in the areas of HSE is essential to fulfill our vision and meet the expectations.
SMLC is committed to prevention of all types of accidents, protecting people, the environment and customer property and conducting its business legitimately, ethically and in a socially responsible manner.
We will implement the following objectives into all decisions affecting our operations:
Regulatory Compliance: We will ensure that all applicable legal, regulatory and contractual requirements are met and adopt sound professional judgment where regulatory requirements do not exist.
Occupational Health & Safety: Occupational health and safety values will not be compromised. No job is so important and no task so urgent that the necessary steps cannot be taken to perform it safely.
Risk Management: We will identify health, safety, environmental and security risks, and ensure that appropriate controls and contingency plans are in place to address unforeseen events.
Sustainable Responsible Business: We will establish appropriate processes to minimise waste, use resources efficiently, encourage recycling and to adopt sound and economically feasible controls that will avoid or mitigate negative impact on the environment.
Assure Competency: Provide our employees with training and tools to ensure that they have the knowledge and skills needed to perform their work competently.

Stop work: Exercise the right to stop work when they believe that a situation exists that places them, co-worker(s), the environment or company assets at risk or in danger.
Reporting: Report all concerns immediately to prevent incidents and to drive continual improvement.
The Company measures the achievement of this HSE Policy by setting measurable HSE performance targets in our business plans, which we are all committed to meeting. This Policy Statement shall be made freely available to all interested parties.
